Just in time for the festive season, the Borough Hall is launching a new season of Royal Opera House screenings, starting with the Christmas classic, The Royal Ballet’s The Nutcracker.

The Nutcracker has long been one of the most delightful ways to discover ballet and now you can watch The Royal Ballet’s stunning version of the performance from the comfort of your local town centre. Get set to go on a magical adventure with Clara and her Nutcracker doll and follow the story of a little girl who goes to the Land of Sweets on Christmas Eve.

The screening takes place on Sunday 9 December from 2pm-4.30pm at the Borough Hall Cinema in Godalming town centre. Tickets include a festive glass of mulled wine and a mince pie to enjoy with the performance and cost £15 for adults, concessions £12.50 and children £10.

Councillor Jenny Else, Portfolio Holder for Health, Wellbeing and Culture at Waverley Borough Council, which owns the Borough Hall, said:  “We are delighted that the Borough Hall Cinema will be putting on this magical Christmas classic. The Nutcracker is a wonderful ballet and a festive treat to share with all the family. This is the perfect way to take a break from Christmas shopping and seeing a world class ballet without having to travel far.”

The Borough Hall Cinema regularly screens films and hosts a variety of entertainment. The Nutcracker is the first of many Royal Opera House screenings, with La traviata and The Queen of Spades also showing early next year.
