Fifteen Key Stage 2 children from Green Oak Church of England Primary School were presented with prizes at a special assembly for drawing some fantastic pictures of the new homes at Ockford Ridge.

The children who produced the winning artworks were given Waterstones book vouchers by site developers, W. Stirland and construction mascot, Ivor Goodsite.

Those who produced the three winning designs got a voucher worth £20 and the runners up received a voucher worth £10.

Andrew Smith, Head of Strategic Housing at Waverley Borough Council, said: “The council is investing more than £20 million in its housing stock at Ockford Ridge, to make it a better place for the community and for future generations.

“It’s important that we engage with everyone from the local community, from young people to older people. Getting W. Stirland in to talk to the children about their work on the site, as well as advice on how to stay safe on a building site, and getting the children involved in a drawing competition was a great way for them to learn more about the project.”
