This summer Waverley Borough Council will host a series of free skate, BMX and scooter workshops, continuing the tradition of more than ten years.
The day-long events are an opportunity for young people to be coached by the pros and show off their new tricks.
Councillor Jenny Else, Portfolio Holder for Health, Wellbeing and Culture, said: “This August we will be hosting yet another series of our annual skate park workshops, now running for more than ten years.
“The skate park workshops are always very popular and this year’s events promise to be no exception. If you know anyone who is between the ages of seven and 16 tell them – they can drop in for a few hours or come for the full day, take part or watch some stunts performed by the pros.
“The sessions are a chance for children with little to no experience to learn some basic skills. Professional skaters, BMXers and scooter riders will be on hand to give tuition, advice and inspire. There will be opportunities to have a go on a ramp, try out some tricks and get rolling.
”Find out more about what’s on over the summer on our website, including the seventh Xplorer in Waverley, a free navigation challenge for all the family.”
The events require no booking but those aged under 16 must have a parent or guardian complete a permission form before taking part.
