Waverley’s biggest adventure for families is back, and it’s free

Published Thursday, 20 July 2017

Explore a park, complete a navigation challenge and have fun as a family – Xplorer is the perfect outdoor activity for primary and pre-school children.

Around 900 people took part in the free adventure last year, racing against friends to complete the course and find all the markers.

Councillor Jenny Else, Portfolio Holder for Health, Wellbeing and Culture, said: “Once again we have planned some fantastic, free and safe activities for families to take advantage of over the summer. Among them is the seventh Xplorer event we have held and each event gets bigger and better than the last. It’s such a great way for families to spend time exploring new skills together and is an opportunity which shouldn’t be missed.

”Find our more about what’s on over the summer on our website, including the skate park workshops in August.”

The course lasts for approximately 30 minutes and everyone will receive a certificate and sticker for taking part.

There are four opportunities to compete this summer:

  • Friday 4 August, 10.30am-12.30pm, Broadwater Park
  • Tuesday 14 August, 1.30-3.30pm, Farnham Park
  • Tuesday 22 August, 1.30-3.30pm, Broadwater Park
  • Friday 1 September, 10.30am-12.30pm, Farnham Park
