Hearing Date Set For Local Plan Examination

Published Friday, 7 April 2017

The Waverley Local Plan will be examined at a hearing starting 27 June 2017.

A draft timetable and list of participants, when known, will be published on the council’s website.

Planning Inspector, Jonathan Bore has been appointed to conduct the examination and will determine whether or not the plan is ‘sound’ in light of the representations received and national policy.

Mr Bore has published guidance that sets out how the examination will be conducted, which includes:

·    how representations will be managed

·    conduct of the hearing sessions

·    deadlines for submission of hearing statements.

As well as the guidance, the council has received a number of additional questions about the plan: Matters and Issues for Examination.

The council has until 12 May 2017 to respond to the questions. The responses will be published on the council’s website after the deadline.

The Matters and Issues for Examination and hearing guidance notes have been published and can be viewed at: www.waverley.gov.uk/localplan.
