Audit of accounts - notice of public rights to inspect accounts

From 20 July to 28 August 2020, between 10am and 4pm (Monday to Friday) you can inspect, and make copies of, Waverley Borough Council's accounts for year ended 31 March 2020.

This includes all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other related documents.

The Annual Financial Report 2019/20 (unaudited) contains the unaudited accounts. You can also make an appointment to see them and other documents at our offices.

Making a comment or objection to the Council's auditor

If you are on the electoral register for Waverley and have any comments or objections relating to our accounts, you can contact the Council's external auditors, Grant Thornton before the completion of the audit.

If you are objecting, you need to state the grounds for your objection, giving details of:

  1. any item of account which is alleged to be contrary to law; and
  2. any matter in respect of which it is proposed that the auditor could make a public interest report under section 24 of, and paragraph 1 of Schedule 7 to, the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014.
