Looking for some family-friendly activities to enjoy in Waverley this summer? From exploring the great outdoors to big screen entertainment, there’s always something to do, whatever the weather…
Our free BMX, scooter and skateboard workshops offer young people the chance to be coached by the pros, watch demonstrations and show off their new tricks.
Whether a beginner or an expert, anyone between seven and 16 can drop in for a few hours or come for the full day, take part or watch some stunts performed by the pros.
Enjoy plenty of active fun outdoors at one of our many play spaces. Waverley has more than 60 parks and playgrounds, providing fun and exciting play spaces for a range of ages and abilities. Plan your next play date by finding a park or playground near you.
In the mood for exploring
Xplorer is a family-friendly navigation challenge that gives children a sense of adventure as they explore the park to find the markers, with a healthy mix of exercise and decision making that the whole family can enjoy.
Using a simple map, the aim is to find a number of markers that are located around the park. At each marker children need to identify what is pictured and enjoy learning a fun fact to tell their friends.
The great outdoors
Enjoy Waverley’s countryside by planning a day trip to one of the following: Frensham Great Pond and Common, Phillips Memorial Park or Farnham Park. With lots to do at each location including bugs to find, dens to build, beaches and meadows to explore, there’s lots to captivate your imagination!
A big screen adventure
Colin Farrell, Eva Green, Michael Keaton, and Danny Devito star in Dumbo – a beloved family favourite, brought to life by director Tim Burton.
Meanwhile, in Cherry Tree Lane, the return of much-loved nanny Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt) lifts the mood for Jane Banks (Emily Mortimer) and her brother Michael (Ben Whishaw), by now all grown up.
Are you ready to take on a new challenge? Then take on the new Active Splash 'Wipeout - style' inflatable at Haslemere Leisure Centre. With lots of different combinations, the inflatable provides endless fun for all the family.
Meanwhile, over in Cranleigh, Friday nights just got interesting… The Friday Night Project offers young people the chance to hang out with friends and take part in a range of activities. Activities include gym, table tennis, workout classes, virtual cycling, racket ball and squash; there’s also a pool table and café.
Plus, enjoy making a splash with your little ones with free swimming for under 8’s at any of Waverley’s leisure centres.
