Skate skills

Our free BMX, scooter and skateboard workshops offer young people the chance to be coached by the pros, watch demonstrations and show off their new tricks.

Whether a beginner or an expert, anyone between seven and 16 can drop in for a few hours or come for the full day, take part or watch some stunts performed by the pros.

In the mood for exploring

Xplorer is a family-friendly navigation challenge that gives children a sense of adventure as they explore the park to find the markers, with a healthy mix of exercise and decision making that the whole family can enjoy.

Using a simple map, the aim is to find a number of markers that are located around the park. At each marker children need to identify what is pictured and enjoy learning a fun fact to tell their friends.

The great outdoors

Enjoy Waverley’s countryside by planning a day trip to one of the following: Frensham Great Pond and Common, Phillips Memorial Park or Farnham Park. With lots to do at each location including bugs to find, dens to build, beaches and meadows to explore, there’s lots to captivate your imagination!

A big screen adventure

The magic of Disney takes centre stage at the Borough Hall Cinema this summer, with special prices for the screenings of Dumbo (PG) and Mary Poppins Returns (U).

Colin Farrell, Eva Green, Michael Keaton, and Danny Devito star in Dumbo – a beloved family favourite, brought to life by director Tim Burton.

Meanwhile, in Cherry Tree Lane, the return of much-loved nanny Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt) lifts the mood for Jane Banks (Emily Mortimer) and her brother Michael (Ben Whishaw), by now all grown up.

Activities include gym, table tennis, workout classes, virtual cycling, racket ball and squash; there’s also a pool table and café.

Plus, enjoy making a splash with your little ones with free swimming for under 8’s at any of Waverley’s leisure centres.
