Waverley Borough Council will publish the Notice of Election on Friday 22 March for the forthcoming local elections.

Those who wish to stand for a seat in borough, town or parish council elections have until 4pm on the 3 April to ensure their nomination papers are submitted by hand at the Waverley Borough Council Offices in Godalming.

Council elections taking place on Thursday 2 May 2019 will select all 57 councillors for Waverley Borough Council and all councillors in local town or parish councils. Councillors make important decisions about the delivery of local services including housing, planning, community events, play areas, leisure facilities, environmental health and waste management.

Potential candidates can submit papers in person or ask their Election Agent or a trusted individual to submit them on their behalf.  To do this, an appointment must be booked in advance to meet with the elections team.

Potential candidates should call Electoral Services on 01483 523116 or email: to reserve your appointment as early as possible.

A vacancy has also arisen on Surrey County Council in the County Division of Haslemere, due to a resignation. In the event that an election is called, Waverley Borough Council’s Electoral Services Team has plans in place to run a by-election.
