Make the most of the new Apprenticeship Levy

Published Monday, 6 March 2017

Have you thought about how you’re going to take advantage of the new levy and upskill your workforce?

The Government’s new apprenticeship levy means that from 6 April 2017 employers with a payroll of more than £3m have to invest in apprenticeships at a rate of 0.5%.  Businesses with a wage bill of under £3m will not pay a levy, but will be required to make a 10% contribution to the cost of any apprenticeship training.

Waverley Borough Council’s training arm, Waverley Training Services, can help you take advantage of the new system.

Waverley Training Services is a Government approved apprenticeship training provider. We work with employers and apprentices across Waverley and the surrounding area to match candidates to opportunities.

We have successfully delivered work-based qualifications and apprenticeships for the last 30 years throughout Surrey and the surrounding borders. Each year we train over 150 people in vocational qualifications both at the beginning and further on in their career.

Training and developing your employee’s encourages them to stay longer, positively affects the bottom line, as well as the organisation as a whole.

If you are interested in finding out more about apprenticeships – what they are and how they can work for you – then Waverley Training Services can help you.
