Waverley’s parks need your nominations

Published Monday, 3 October 2016

Do you think Waverley’s parks are the best in the country? If so, make sure you nominate your favourite green space in the borough to win the Fields in Trust UK Best Park competition.

Fields in Trust is on the hunt to find the country’s favourite park, nominated and selected by the public.

Councillor Kevin Deanus, Portfolio Holder for Community Services, said: “The award is open to all public green spaces across the UK, but we think Waverley’s parks have got what it takes to win.

“We have got parks to suit everyone – from Green Flag and In Bloom winning parks such as the Phillips Memorial Park in Godalming to unique and special wildlife havens such as Frensham Great Pond and Common - not forgetting our top class play areas and trim trails across the borough which are fun for all the family.

“So wherever your favourite park in the borough is, don’t forget to nominate it so it gets the recognition it deserves.”

To nominate your park go to Fields in Trust and fill out the simple online form.
