Planned maintenance to council homes

To keep your home in good condition and well maintained we undertake general maintenance including:

  • painting the outside
  • replacing windows and external doors
  • mending gates and fences
  • upgrading paths and drives
  • rewiring
  • re-roofing and guttering

Before we do any work we will notify you in advance and give you as notice as we can.

Letting us in your home

You must let us in to your home to carry out maintenance and inspections.  All our staff and contractors are required to show you an identity card before asking to come in.

If they don't show you ID please do let them into your home.  If you have any concerns please call 0330 119 3000 (during office hours) and we can check whether the caller is genuine.

If we need to carry out work on a neighbouring home we may also need to have access to your property. If we need to come in, unless it is an emergency we usually give you at least 24 hours' notice and try to make an appointment at a mutually convenient time.

Entering your home in an emergency

In an emergency, we may have to force entry to your home to prevent damage to your own or a neighbour's home.

We will only do this if we can't contact you.

Should this be necessary we will ask the police to attend to ensure your possessions are safe. We will fix any damage caused.
