Solar panels on council homes

We have around 450 council homes with solar pv panels. Solar electricity is clean, emits no pollutants, creates no waste and uses no fuel. It is a green energy solution.

Power generated from solar panels cannot be stored for later use. Any excess power is exported back to the grid.

How to get the most from your solar panels

To get the most from your solar panels:

  • Use your electricity in the day as much as possible when your panels are producing energy.
  • Your panels work on cloudy days but will produce more energy on sunny days. You could save bigger domestic jobs for sunny days.
  • Monitor your electric usage.

Your solar panels are guaranteed to work for at least 25 years and do not need servicing or cleaning.

The electricity generation is monitored remotely, and you will be contacted if there is a problem.

Troubleshooting tips

  • Check your fuse box. Is the RCD (circuit breaker) switch on the on position for your PV system. This can go to off position because of a power cut.
  • Check your electric metre is not due to be replaced. You can check this with your energy company. Faulty metres can give incorrect readings.

Ecovision monitor and maintain the solar panels.  Please call them if you have any other problems on 01453 796790.
