Walks for Health

The Waverley Walks for Health scheme is part of Walking for Health.

It's England’s largest network of health walk schemes, helping thousands of people across the country lead a more active lifestyle. The group walks are led by friendly, specially trained volunteers who are on hand to provide encouragement and support, and make sure no one gets left behind.

  • Most walks are 30-90 minutes and approximately two miles.
  • Walk routes vary every week, some locations offer a longer walk once every month.
  • Walks take account of the pace of the slowest person, but the aim is for brisk walking to increase your heart rate and make you breathe a little faster than normal.
  • Walks are a great way to meet new people through regular exercise.
  • Walks are FREE.

To get involved with the Walks for Health, attend one of the listed walks below and let the leader know. There is no need to book but please allow five minutes to register at the start of walk and fill in a brief registration form.

You will need your GP's agreement if you have been diagnosed or have problems with your heart, balance, joints or bones, or have experienced pains in the chest.
