Cooling tower notification

If your commercial site uses a cooling tower or evaporative condenser you must tell us. They help to remove excess heat from sites and can sometimes be found in large office blocks (eg for air conditioning) or in industrial processes where cooling is required.

Cooling towers and evaporative condensers can be the cause of outbreaks of Legionnaire's disease, which can result in serious infection and sometimes death.

What happens after you notify us

We'll add the notification to the public register. We won't need to contact you unless we need you to clarify something. If you haven't heard from us within 28 days of the receipt of the notification, the registration is complete.

Tell us about changes

If you make any changes, you need to tell us within a month.
