WTS celebrates National Apprenticeship Week

Waverley Training Services (WTS) is happy to be supporting National Apprenticeship Week, a time dedicated to recognising the value and impact of apprenticeships in our community.

This year, WTS which has helped over 200 learners since 2022 to discover their potential and learn new skills and works with over 40 employers across Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire and Sussex, is highlighting the achievements of some of its apprentices and the opportunities available through its apprenticeship programs. It holds a 100% pass rate, a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating and Matrix accreditation.

Located in Farnham, Surrey, Waverley Training Services, a ‘not for surplus’ department of Waverley Borough Council, offers a range of work-based learning qualifications for all ages, helping employers to upskill their current workforce and educate new apprentices.

Over 20 internal apprentices have been supported at Waverley; apprentices such as Amy who is currently completing a Business Administration apprenticeship whilst working at Waverley Training Services. She told us a little bit about what life is like as an apprentice:

"I am a Business Administrator Level 3 Apprentice completing my Apprenticeship through Waverley Training Services. I also work for the admin team at WTS where I perform a variety of administrative duties to support the organisation while completing the professional qualification alongside. I enjoy expanding my knowledge and skills through this Apprenticeship and then having the opportunity to apply these to practical real-life situations in my job role. Every day is a little bit different, and it is very fulfilling to work within such a supportive and collaborative team. I would highly recommend completing your Apprenticeship through Waverley Training Services."

We also spoke to Stephanie who has recently completed a Business Administrator L3 course at Waverley Training Services. She told us:

"I have really enjoyed this course, and I learnt so much from this. My tutor Juliet has been so supportive and helpful throughout my course journey, and she has taught me so much during this time! The whole process from start to finish has been so smooth and easy to follow. Thank you everyone at Waverley Training Services for helping me to get the best results I could for this course!"

Councillor Liz Townsend, Waverley Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Planning and Economic Development and WTS Chair of Governors, said:

"National Apprenticeship Week is an excellent opportunity for us to celebrate our amazing apprentices, not only at Waverley Training Services but throughout the borough and beyond. It is also a chance to highlight the advantages apprenticeships can offer both employees and employers alike.

“If you are interested in finding out more about apprenticeships, the team are giving you the opportunity to pop in and talk to them at Farnham Memorial Hall tomorrow (13 February) between 1-4pm; do pop along and have a chat with them and see how they can help.”

Waverley Training Services apprenticeships cover a range of areas, including business administration, customer service, management, and more. Whilst on programme, apprentices’ study various topics to complete a nationally recognised qualification, preparing them for successful careers within or outside local government.
