Waverley to pay tribute to The Fallen

Tributes will be paid throughout Waverley on Remembrance Sunday in honour of those who have served their country in armed conflict.

This year the date is 14 November which is the closest Sunday to Armistice Day, commemorated each year on 11 November – historically the date when First World War hostilities came to an end.

The Mayor of Waverley, Councillor John Robini, as the borough’s first citizen will lead the tributes. He will be at a Service of Remembrance at Haslemere (details below).

Councillor Robini said: “At this time of the year, when the guns fell silent at the end of the First World War, it is important to look back and reflect on the selfless service and sacrifice of those who fought and died for this country in conflicts. We will remember them.”

This is not a comprehensive list but sets out details of a number of services and Acts of Remembrance taking place on and near 14 November:
