Waverley residents - reduce waste and get rewards

Rethink Waste is a free scheme available to anyone living in Surrey that offers a range of rewards for reducing waste.

All you need to do is sign up online and you will receive a personalised dashboard where you will be able to access relevant activities and resources and monitor your progress. Once signed up, members will receive weekly emails, which will include an array of activities such as pledges, videos and quizzes, designed to help you towards small, yet impactful lifestyle changes.

By taking part and engaging with content,  members receive points, which can be used to enter competitions for exciting prizes like iPads and TVs, make donations to charities or local community groups, or support local schools. Schools that take part could be in line to receive funding from the scheme to run an environmental project benefiting the school and its pupils.

Councillor Steve Williams, Waverley Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Environment and Sustainability, said: “I’d urge residents to sign up to this worthwhile scheme if they haven’t already.  Not only can you make a difference but earn rewards whilst doing so. Waste reduction is key to helping our planet. By getting into the habit of reducing the amount of stuff we consume, reusing items where possible which will mean fewer resources are used up creating new products and recycling so that old stuff can be turned into something new, we can all play our part.”

Rethink Waste is being delivered by SEP in collaboration with Greenredeem, an organisation that provides digital engagement platforms to provoke environmental behaviour change.

Residents can take part in Rethink Waste now by signing up online.
