Waverley pays tribute to Councillor John Gray

Waverley Borough Council has paid tribute to Councillor John Gray, who passed away last week. As a mark of respect, the flag at The Burys will fly at half-mast on Monday 26 September, the day of the next Council meeting.

Councillor John Ward, the Mayor of Waverley, said: “Councillor Gray was elected as ward councillor for Chiddingfold and Dunsfold in 2015, and since that time has faithfully served on the Council, representing the interests of residents with energy and commitment.

“He was a highly respected member of the Audit Committee as well as the Eastern Planning Committee and Resources Overview and Scrutiny Committee. Outside of the Borough Council, Councillor Gray had a long history of dedication to the community, serving on Dunsfold Parish Council, and as a member and treasurer of St Mary and All Saints Church, Dunsfold.

All our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time.”
