Waverley pays tribute to Councillor Brian Adams

Waverley Borough Council has paid tribute to Councillor Brian Adams, who passed away this week. As a mark of respect, the flag at The Burys will be flying at half-mast this week.

Councillor John Robini, the Mayor of Waverley, said: “Since being elected as ward councillor for Frensham Dockenfield and Tilford in 2011, Cllr Adams has worked tirelessly on behalf of residents.

“He made a very significant contribution to the borough, having spent time on the former Executive Committee as Portfolio Holder for Planning and more recently as a respected member of the Policy Overview and Scrutiny Committee, Western Planning Committee and Surrey County Council Local Committee.

“Cllr Adams was also deeply committed to public service outside of the council. He was a member of the Honourable Artillery Company, Royal Yachting Association and National Trust.

“All our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this terribly sad time.”
