Waverley honours The Fallen this Remembrance Sunday

Tributes will be paid throughout Waverley on Remembrance Sunday in honour of those who have served their country in armed conflict.

This year Remembrance Sunday will take place on 13 November, the closest Sunday to Armistice Day, commemorated each year on 11 November – historically the date when First World War hostilities came to an end.

To aid veterans, military personnel and cadets with travel during the processions on Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, Stagecoach will provide all of its bus and tram services across the UK for free.

The Mayor of Waverley, Councillor John Ward, as the borough’s first citizen will lead the tributes. He will be attending the Service of Remembrance in Farnham.

The Mayor of Waverley, Councillor John Ward said: "Remembrance Day is a profoundly important tradition in which we honour those that gave their lives to protect this country. We must never forget their boundless and unwavering courage in the face of unimaginable adversity. We will remember them."
