In the wake of A-level and GCSE results, some students may find themselves grappling with disappointment and uncertainty about their future. However, going to College or University is not the only option when it comes to higher education.
Waverley Training Services (WTS) offers a fantastic range of opportunities to those who might not have achieved the grades they hoped for.
Located in Farnham, Surrey, WTS provides training and apprenticeship opportunities designed to help young people gain valuable skills and qualifications, tailored to meet the needs of both individuals and local businesses.
These include apprenticeships and work-based qualifications aimed at preparing young people for the workforce or further education. The services extend across Surrey and the surrounding areas of Hampshire, Berkshire, and Sussex.
Councillor Liz Townsend BEM, Waverley Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Planning and Economic Development and WTS Chair of Governors, said:
“Waverley Training Services plays a crucial role in supporting young people in the borough and beyond, especially those who might feel disappointed by their exam results. By offering tailored training and apprenticeship opportunities, WTS helps them build confidence and acquire the skills needed to succeed in their chosen careers.
“By collaborating with partner organisations such as the Department of Education and the ALPS/ALPHI Provider network group which represents a community of training providers that specialise in apprenticeships and work-based learning in Surrey and further afield, WTS enables learners to access a comprehensive network of education providers. This approach helps ensure that each young person receives the guidance and resources they need to thrive.”
WTS also offers a range of work-based learning qualifications for all ages, helping employers to upskill their current workforce and educate new apprentices in subjects such as accounts and finance, business administration, team leading, customer service and teaching assistance. These can be delivered within the workplace and remotely with an assigned tutor, 1-1 and group sessions.
