An exciting activity-based club for young people is coming to Farnham. ‘The Friday Night project’ which gives young people the chance to get together with friends and take part in a range of activities, is set to launch next week.
Starting 25 March 2022, The Friday Night Project (FNP) will take place every Friday from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Farnham Leisure Centre, giving young people aged 11-18 access to leisure activities for £4 (£2 with a Waverley Access to Leisure Card).
Activities include table tennis, football, basketball, badminton, gym and virtual spin classes.
Councillor Kika Mirylees, Portfolio Holder for Health, Wellbeing, Parks and Leisure said:
“I am delighted that the Friday Night Project is launching in Farnham. This initiative has been so popular with the young people in Cranleigh and we hope this will be replicated in Farnham.
“It is a really positive initiative that offers an opportunity to get involved in a number of new activities, socialise with other young people, and all at a very reasonable cost. Do come along and give it a try.”
The project is jointly funded by Waverley Borough Council, Active Surrey, the Community Foundation for Surrey and Places Leisure and is part of an innovative strategy from Waverley Borough Council to engage with young people in the community.
