Residents alerted to new Council Tax scam

We have been made aware of a new Council Tax scam.

The caller claims to be a bailiff and states that the resident needs to contact them directly to avoid action and to arrange a repayment program for Council Tax arrears.

Please note that even if you have set up a payment plan for Council Tax arrears, we would not contact you by text message.

Waverley Borough Council residents should report any calls of this nature or that seem suspicious to Action Fraud Reporting fraud and cyber crime | Action Fraud.
