In its 139 years of operation, Elphicks Ltd in Farnham has seen many changes, yet has stoically remained trading through a number of economic depressions, wars and now multiple pandemics.
The renowned store has turned a new page in its story with the introduction of a new service – online shopping.
Making their first sale last week through the clickitloal website, Elphicks has continued to diversify to ensure its doors remain open through this latest global challenge.
To celebrate, Elphicks is offering shoppers a £5 discount on items purchased via Click It Local, using the code ELPHICKSCHRISTMAS.
Waverley Borough Council has partnered with Click it Local to create a new virtual high street service, allowing residents to access multiple high street stores in the borough, with the added convenience of a single payment and same day delivery.
Elphicks Ltd Owner, Allan Bushnell, said:
“We are delighted to be part of this exciting local initiative. Click it Local has a simple set up procedure, and an efficient sales and delivery service. Using their online platform has been a welcome addition to our service armoury, especially to our customers who have found it difficult to shop during the current conditions.
“We have had a great response and are excited about continuing to serve the community in the future.”
Councillor Liz Townsend, Waverley Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, said:
“We are really excited about the platform. In a mere two weeks, we’ve seen a steady number of businesses in Waverley take up the opportunity to sell via Click It Local. With more people indicating that they want to buy from local businesses than ever, this makes it really convenient for them to do so, and will help to support our vibrant high streets as well.”
This video explains how the service works, and Waverley based retailers, market traders and even home based businesses can sign up.
