Launch of Surrey Building Control Awards 2023

Are you a local construction company that has worked on an exemplar project in Waverley or a resident who wants to recognise the high quality work of a local construction professional?

If so, we are excited to announce that the Local Authority Building Control teams across Surrey have joined together to organise the first local Building Control Awards. The aim of these new awards is to recognise and reward some of the best projects and people Surrey’s Local Authority Building Control  teams have worked with in 2022.

Surrey Local Authority Building Control recognises that excellent working relationships between all members of a project team are one of the keys to its success - from submission of plans through to completion of work on site.

There are 11 categories in total including best residential extension, best public or community building and best sustainable project.  Applications can be made in more than one category and can be submitted by anyone involved in a project.

The awards are free to enter and nominations close on Thursday 6 April 2023 with judging taking place in April and successful nominees invited to an Awards presentation lunch in May.

If you know of a project or person that deserves to be nominated, you can find out more information and submit your nomination via the online form  at Waverley Borough Council’s webpage at Awards - celebrating success with your local authority building control team.

Waverley Borough Council's Portfolio Holder for Finance, Assets and Commercial Services, Councillor Mark Merryweather, said:

“These awards celebrate local people who care passionately about the work they produce. Our Building Control team see many great examples of the highest standards of work and levels of compliance with the building regulations and we now want to celebrate those who go above and beyond for their customers. So, if you know of a project or person that deserves to be nominated, please do let us know.”
