Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II - 1926 to 2022

A letter of condolence on behalf of the borough from the Mayor of Waverley, Councillor John Ward, will be sent to The Royal Family:

"On behalf of the people of Waverley I would like to offer my deepest sympathy to His Majesty the King and members of the Royal Family following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

"Her Majesty the Queen was cherished and greatly admired by the people of Britain and the Commonwealth, and throughout the world.  She will be sorely missed.

"The memory of her selflessness, her dedication to duty and her steadfast loyalty to her family and country will remain with us all and act as an example in the years ahead."

The Union Flag at the Waverley Borough Council Offices in Godalming and green flags around the Borough will be lowered to half-mast. There will be a book of condolence available at Waverley Borough Council Offices, Godalming Museum, and the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul in Godalming.
