Have your say on polling districts and polling places in the borough

Waverley Borough Council is seeking your views as part of a review of polling districts and polling places in the borough.

The Review is a legal process for considering the location and suitability of the polling districts and polling places for voters in future elections.  As a council, we want to make sure that Waverley residents and interested groups have their say in where polling stations are located. In particular, we want to ensure that polling stations are accessible to all, including those with a disability.

The consultation takes place between Monday 2 October and Monday 13 November 2023.

Full information on the Review and further details on how to make a representation can be viewed on our website at  Waverley Borough Council - Compulsory Parliamentary polling districts and polling place review.

Those wishing to make a written representation can email polling.review@waverley.gov.uk or post it to: Electoral services, Council Offices, The Burys, Godalming, GU7 1HR.   Recommendations arising from the review will be reported to the Standards and General Purposes Committee on Wednesday 29 November and Full Council on Tuesday 12 December 2023.  The list of approved polling districts and polling places will be published in January 2024 and will be used for elections from May 2024 onwards.

Robin Taylor, Waverley Borough Council’s Electoral Registration Officer, said:  “It is important that polling districts and polling places are in the most appropriate place for voters to be able to access, and I would urge residents and interested parties, particularly those with a disability or an interest in accessibility to take part and let us have your views.”
