Free help for Waverley businesses that want to expand

Businesses in Waverley looking to grow or expand can access free specialist support and advice.

Waverley Borough Council has partnered with independent business experts, IncuHive, to provide free mentoring, training and a suite of other support, designed especially for businesses looking to take their next steps as they grow.

Councillor Liz Townsend, Waverley Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Development, says: “We recognise what a difficult time it is for businesses at the moment and therefore we have brought in IncuHive with their immense experience in helping small and medium enterprises to develop, become more profitable, and expand their workforces. Working on our behalf, IncuHive is helping businesses in Waverley through training, one-to-one mentoring, and utilising tools like their business health check which assists in identifying a business’s strengths and weaknesses, outlines what they need to do next and how they can achieve this. This support is just one of the ways that Waverley is assisting our business community.”

Andy Pringle is one of IncuHive’s business mentors. He says: “Once someone has accomplished the mammoth task of establishing a new business, they face the equally daunting job of trying to grow the business and build its resilience, while all the time, keeping on top of the day-to-day work. This can feel overwhelming but we can help. We have years of experience in doing just that. We have tried and tested methods of helping businesses grow and look forward to helping you build and strengthen your company. Just drop me a line or give me a call to start the ball rolling.”

John Overton is one of the small business owners who has already benefited from IncuHive’s guidance. John runs Overture Pilates, a successful Pilates business providing tuition in Farnham and online. He approached IncuHive to help grow his company, which also offers life coaching and breathwork sessions.

John says he would encourage other local businesses to get in touch with IncuHive: “My contact with Andy at IncuHive was funded through the Waverley Business Support Programme and has been really valuable. He patiently listens to you and, with kindness, cuts through some of the irrelevant stories to get to the heart of the matter. He's given me good ideas on using my blog and focusing on more of a specific client. He has also shown great patience in a difficult time for me and my business. It's heartening that such initiatives exist.”

Waverley businesses can contact Andy Pringle at IncuHive directly (andy.pringle@incuhive.co.uk) or find out more on the company’s website. Businesses can also keep abreast of the latest news, opportunities and support by signing up to receive Waverley Borough Council’s business newsletter. The sign-up form can be found on the Council’s dedicated business support website which also includes news on networking, training and investment opportunities.

IncuHive is a business incubation and co-working organisation which offers business support, mentoring, start‐up investment, networking, training and office space. Its mentors all have backgrounds in start‐up and SME business.
