Flood warning for Elstead and Eashing

The Environment Agency has issued a warning of potential flooding as water levels are rising on the River Wey at Tilford as a result of the heavy rainfall.

There is potential flooding risk to property and roads today (25 February) especially in the Elstead area.  Please take care as flood water can be deep and fast flowing; you should move possessions and valuables off the ground or to a safe space.

Further light rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours, with some heavier rainfall in localised areas; the EA is monitoring the situation, and we will update residents with any further information on our website and social media channels.

In the meantime, you can find out how to protect yourself and your home in case of flooding by visiting the Surrey County Council Flooding Advice web page.

You can also find a full list of emergency contact numbers and more information on flooding, including, signing up for flood warnings,  by visiting our Emergencies in Waverley web page.
