Do you have a ‘grand design? A project that you’re particularly proud of?
Or are you a member of the public who thinks there’s a great building or project in the borough that should be recognised?
If so, get your entry or your nomination in as the thirteenth Waverley Design Awards are now open.
The awards, which were introduced in 1995 by Waverley Borough Council to encourage interest in the quality of the borough’s built and natural environment and to promote an awareness of the need for high quality design, are free to enter.
Due to the cancellation of the 2020 Design awards ceremony caused by the pandemic, we have extended the period from construction in which buildings and developments are eligible for Design Awards 2022. We will be accepting entries/nominations from developments completed between 1 April 2015 and 30 June 2022.
There are a total of 8 categories of awards which are:
-
New buildings and developments,
-
Conversions, alterations, and refurbishment
-
Environment and landscape
-
Sustainable design and construction
-
The Michael Edwards Award for Historic environment
The deadline for nominations is 8 August 2022 and the deadline for entries is 5 September 2022.
“We have some wonderful examples of great architecture here in Waverley and are looking forward to receiving entries from those who designed and built them as well as those members of the public that appreciate them,” said Cllr Liz Townsend, Portfolio Holder for Planning and Economic Development.
“We have eight different categories including the People’s Choice Award which gives the public the opportunity to pick their favourite development. This year, we are particularly keen to see outstanding examples of sustainable design in addition to entries of smaller schemes including home extensions.”
If you would like to enter a scheme you have been involved with or your own property for the consideration, fill in the Waverley Design Awards - Entry Form or if you would like to nominate a property fill in the Waverley Design Awards - Nomination Form.
