Latest Update (13 May 2022):
There has been slight delays with the Council Tax Energy Rebate letters going out due to the scheme administrators finalising technical details in order to comply with the government’s eligibility requirements. We now expect letters to be sent out from Wednesday 18 May. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Anyone that has currently not received a payment, will receive this letter on how to get paid.
The letter will include a QR code which residents can scan, and this will then send you to a web page for you to complete your bank details. You will be paid directly into your bank account within 3 days once completing this action. Alternatively, for those unable to or those who have issues scanning the QR code, a link will be provided within the letter which will assist in receiving the payment.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
The Chancellor announced on Thursday 3 February 2022 that some households will receive a rebate to help with their energy bills.
Most people paying Council Tax living in properties in bands A, B, C and D will receive a one-off payment of £150.
If you live in a property in Council Tax band E, F, G or H, you may be eligible for a discretionary payment to help with your energy bills.
We are working hard to make payments. Please be patient with us during this process.
