Council Tax Energy Rebate discretionary payment applications now open

Waverley Borough Council is now ready to receive applications for the discretionary element of the Council Tax Energy Rebate Scheme.

Residents who are in financial hardship and who did not qualify for a payment under the main Council Tax Energy Rebate Scheme, may be eligible for a discretionary payment.

Liable Council Tax payers (or a person who would be liable where the property is exempt) can apply via our online application form.

Once your Council Tax account details have been entered on the online form, you will be given the option to apply for the discretionary payment if no previous payments have been made under the main Council Tax Energy Rebate scheme.

Letters will be going out this week to the households who have already been identified as eligible. Properties that are eligible and pay by direct debit will automatically receive a payment from our Council Tax team. Those who do not pay by direct debit, but are eligible for this scheme, will need to apply via the online application form.

Please see our Discretionary Policy for the Council Tax Rebate (Energy Grant) Scheme for further information and eligibility requirements.
