Council services support

Waverley's offices will close for the early May bank holiday weekend at 4.45pm on Friday 1 May and reopen at 8.45am on Tuesday 5 May. 

Bin collections  

Refuse, recycling, food waste and garden waste collections take place as normal on bank holiday Monday 4 May.

Careline service   

The Careline monitoring centre will remain open 24/7 throughout the bank holiday period, but Waverley Borough Council will be closed. For full details, please visit our Careline service page.

Housing Benefit payments  

Housing Benefit payments due on Monday 4 May will be paid early on Friday 1 May.

In the event of an emergency with a risk to life, for example flood or fire, call 999 immediately. 

For emergencies relating to council services during this period, please use the out of hours number: 01483 523200 

Emergency repairs for tenants: If you are a Waverley housing tenant, the emergency housing repairs page provides contact information. 

An emergency would include a blocked drain, total loss of electric power, no heating or hot water, damage to a ground floor door or window leaving a home insecure, severe leak or a smell of gas. Do not report an emergency via email or online. 

Leisure centre opening times  

Leisure centres are open during the holiday period and running a revised timetable. To check your centre's opening hours, please visit your local centre’s website, which can be accessed via our Leisure centres page.
