Waverley's offices will close for Christmas at 3.30pm (phone lines at 3pm) on Tuesday 24 December 2024 and will reopen (along with phone lines) at 8.45am on Thursday 2 January 2025.

Bin collections
Our contractor, Biffa, will be carrying out collections over the Christmas and New Year period, however, there will be changes to your bin collections.
Collections up to and including Tuesday 24 December 2024 will stay the same.
From Wednesday 25 December, the collection will be two days behind (Wednesday collection will happen Friday, Thursday collection will happen Saturday, Friday collection will happen Sunday).
On Monday 30 December and Tuesday 31 December, normal collections will temporarily resume.
From Wednesday 1 January, the collection will be one day behind (Wednesday collection will happen Thursday and so on).
Normal collections will resume from Monday 6 January 2025.

Careline service
The Careline monitoring centre will remain open 24/7 throughout the Christmas and New Year period, but Waverley Borough Council will be closed. For full details, please visit our Careline service page.

An emergency would include a blocked drain, total loss of electric power, no heating or hot water, damage to a ground floor door or window leaving a home insecure, severe leak or a smell of gas. Do not report an emergency via email or online.
