Council seeks resident feedback on plans and priorities

Waverley Borough Council is inviting residents to help shape the future of the borough by sharing their views on its new Corporate Strategy and annual delivery plans. An online survey has been launched to gather public feedback, ensuring that local voices play a key role in shaping policies and priorities.

The Corporate Strategy outlines the council’s long-term vision for creating opportunities for all. It serves as the foundation for decision-making, influencing budget allocations and service delivery. The plan is built around five key priorities:

  • A More Sustainable Borough
  • A More Prosperous Borough
  • A More Inclusive Borough
  • Decent and Affordable Homes
  • A Resilient and Well-Managed Council

Councillor Paul Follows, Leader of Waverley Borough Council, emphasised the importance of public participation in the process.

“We want to make Waverley a thriving and inclusive place to live, work, and do business. To achieve this, our residents’ feedback is crucial in helping us refine our approach and ensure we are addressing the needs of the whole community.”

Residents can now watch short video presentations on each priority area and submit their thoughts via the online survey. The council has already consulted with local businesses, public sector partners, and educational institutions, and is now encouraging all residents to have their say.

“Now it’s our residents’ turn, and I strongly encourage them to get involved and help shape Waverley’s future,” added Councillor Follows.

The survey is open until 09 March 2025, and residents are urged to take part to ensure their views are heard.
