Waverley’s revised electoral register was published on 1 December and shows the total electorate now stands at 92,854.
The update follows completion of the annual canvass, which ran from July to November. Household Enquiry forms were issued to over 53,000 residences, and between September and November canvassers covered the borough, knocking on doors of those who had failed to respond.
A mobile-canvassing pilot scheme, trialled in 2017, was extended in 2018 and saw 17 of the 25 canvassers equipped with a tablet. Using the tablet allowed residents to quickly, easily and securely complete their registration online. By the end of the canvass, 97.2% of the households issued with a Household Enquiry form had responded.
Residents that have not yet responded can complete their registration either by phone on: 01483 523116, or online at: www.gov.uk/registertovote
