The Thriving Communities Commissioning Fund 2025-2028 is NOW OPEN

The Thriving Communities Commissioning Fund is available to not-for-profit organisations that deliver services in Waverley and meet the scheme's priorities.

Priority one – improving people’s health and wellbeing 

Priority two – enabling access to information, advice and guidance 

Priority three – reducing social isolation and loneliness 

Priority four – building stronger, connected communities

Funding available

  • There is an overall provisional budget of £442,105 per year over three years.  
  • Funding will be awarded to organisations to deliver a specific project or activities over a three-year period from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2028. 
  • Applications for funding must exceed £3,000 per year.

You can apply if the service or activity your organisation is providing meets one or more of the scheme's priorities and you are delivering services in Waverley,  

What will we fund?

The scheme supports the costs to deliver a specific project or activity for people who have higher needs, vulnerable and experience disadvantage.

The Thriving Communities Commissioning Fund does not support the overall running costs of organisations to deliver all their day-to-day services - organisations are expected to apply for funding towards specific projects. The costs incorporated may include the operating costs to deliver them, such as salaries, utilities, telephones, rent etc.

Submitting your application

Please send your completed application and accompanying documents to communities@waverley.gov.uk

Your application should be accompanied by a copy of the following documents:

  • Business/strategic plan for your organisation
  • A full set of accounts/annual report for your most recent full accounting year
  • A budget for the project you are seeking funding towards.

Your application must be received by 4pm on Thursday 28 November 2024. 

How applications will be assessed

Applications will be assessed by a panel, meeting in December.

Funding decisions

Confirmation of funding will be agreed at Full Council on 11 February 2025 and applicants will be informed of the outcome of their applications after this date.
